Environmentally correct dock bumpers

With all the clean marine, marinas, waterways and anti pollution laws the pressure is on.

Bumper options in the market nowadays are wood, rubber or PVC.  It may not be known that much but PVC material is toxic. Japanese car manufacturers, a major U.S. West Coast healthcare provider and one of the largest hospital networks in the U.S. have the banned PVC. With the degradation over time it gives of increased levels of micro-plastics (Microplastics concentrate Persistent Organic Pollutants), a pollution which can be ingested by organisms in the biosphere.

Now there is an excellent alternative for bumpers designed for Marinas and Harbours, on dock walls, fingers, fuel docks, jetties, pontoons and for boat yards and dry docks.

Dock bumpers made out of E.V.A. (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethylene-vinyl_acetate

It is a polymer that approaches elastomeric materials in softness and flexibility, yet can be processed like other thermoplastics. The material has good clarity and gloss, low-temperature toughness, stress-crack resistance, hot-melt adhesive water proof properties, not biodegradable and resistance to UV radiation.

It’s a non toxic material and the production of this material is non hazardous. The material is a closed cell one, hydrophobic and solvent resistant.  It has a extremely high resistance to impact, abrasion and it is non marking. The E.V.A. material is light weight, easy to handle and has a life expectancy which is much greater than PVC or rubber. We all need to choose for a pollution free world.  E.V.A. Bumper
